I chose this project because the cherry blossom (Sakura) is important in Japanese culture, one of its main symbolic meanings being the end of winter and beginning of spring.  Attention is also given to the short lived but glorious and beautiful life of the cherry blossom. 

 

I used several different types of wire, 325 pink beads, and green leaf beads.  It took about 15 or 20 hours to complete.

Below is the Before Picture, featuring the raw unsculpted materials...

   

And next is the After Picture, the final product...

And here it is hanging out with "real" organic matter...

It may not be "botanically correct," but I think this lends to it some element of Wabi-Sabi as well.
