Constructing a Papier-Mache Vase

Step One - Preparation

Inflate a balloon.  Tear off small squares of newspaper.

Find a bottle of glue and a razorblade.

Step Two - Shaping

Spread glue on the sides of the ballon.  Cover with squares of

newspaper. Allow to dry, then repeat.  Keep adding layers

until a firm, hard globe is created.  Then, use the razorblade to

cut holes in the top and bottom.  These will be the neck and base. 

Step Three - Decorating

Use acryllic paint to cover the outside.  Be sure to use a

light shade of paint, as ink from the newspaper will make

the final result darker than expected!  Add flowers or

other living plants to finish off the job.
