  •  In America the term "Cartoon" applies to every type of animation, the only distinguishing factor is the rating system
  •  Teenage cartoons are set with a TV-14 rating, these cartoons are meant to cater to 14-18 year olds
  •  The majority of these cartoons are needlessly violent, crude, disrespectful, and do not show any themes to promote correct behavior

     United States

  • There are no American made "erotic" cartoons to date
  • Cartoons that are considered adult only in America are rated TV-MA
  • An adult only cartoon made in America has excessive violence, horrific language, and strong sexual jokes and innuendos
  • American adult cartoons follow an unspoken rule of "who can put the most offensive thing on Television without being taken off the air"
  • Perfect examples of adult cartoons are "The Boondocks" and "South Park"
